Jan 2017 The final of 50 Chevron houses for Wheatstone operations residential workforce were completed and officially handed over in Onslow’s Barrarda Estate.

 Dec 2016 The Onslow Waste Water Treatment Plant is completed, of which the Wheatstone Project contributed $13.1 million towards.
 Dec 2016 In 2016, around $40,000 was awarded to local Onslow groups through the Wheatstone Community Spirit Fund, a small grants program that helps to build and support thriving communities. 
 Nov 2016 The WA Government announced Onslow’s emergency services are set to improve with a new ambulance sub-centre to be built. The Wheatstone Project has committed $2 million to the new facilities, which will be built and operated by St John Ambulance.
 Nov 2016 The WA Government announced they have awarded the tender for the Onslow Health Service redevelopment to Cockram Construction, of which the Wheatstone Project will contribute around half of the funds needed for the $41.8 million redevelopment project.
 Oct 2016 The final Train 2 and domestic gas modules are delivered to Ashburton North. This signalled the completion of the three year, and more than 120,000 metric tons (MT) module fabrication scope comprising 114 modules fabricated in yards in Indonesia, Malaysia and China being transferred to Ashburton North via 60 shipments. 
 Oct 2016 The Wheatstone Information Centre opened as part of the new Shire of Ashburton Onslow complex, the construction of which was part funded by the Wheatstone Project.

The first Chevron residents moved into the company's new houses in Barrarda Estate, Onslow in October 2016.

The WA Government announced Wheatstone's contribution to Australia's first distributed energy resource microgrid in Onslow. Funded by the Wheatstone Project, the microgrid will aim to meet more than half of the town's electricity demand using renewable supply.
The Wheatstone Project's Environment Plan which covers start-up and operations of the Wheatstone/Iago field infrastructure, the offshore platform and trunkline is approved by regulator, National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environment Management Authority (NOPSEMA). 
Aug 2016 Construction of the Onslow Aquatic Centre commenced and the 10 new Government Regional Officers Houses, which were funded by the Wheatstone Project were completed.
Aug 2016 LNG Tank 1 achieves ready for cooldown status, and is ready for commissioning and start up of the LNG plant.  
Jul 2016 The first 10 of 50 Chevron houses are delivered to Barrarda Estate, Onslow.
Jun 2016 All nine Wheatstone production wells are completed and ready for the start of production.
May 2016 Official opening of the $14.1 million Onslow Ring Road, providing all weather access to the town. The project was managed by Main Roads WA and part-funded by the Wheatstone Project. 
May 2016 The first of 50 Chevron residential houses is delivered to Barrarda Estate, Onslow. The houses will be home to Chevron’s permanent residential workforce in Onslow. 

Successful hydrotest of Wheatstone LNG Tank 1 occurred in March 2016. The tank is one of two 165,000 cubic metre storage tanks which will hold produced Wheatstone LNG at temperatures around minus 161 degrees Celsius, prior to loading onto LNG tankers and shipment to customers.

Mar 2016  Pindan Contracting is awarded the tender for the development of the Onslow Aquatic Centre. The Wheatstone Project contributed $7 million towards the Shire of Ashburton led project, as part of its $250 million social and critical infrastructure commitment for Onslow.
Feb 2016 Wheatstone contributed $1 million to the Old Onslow Conservation and Tourism Development Project for conservation works at the heritage listed Old Onslow townsite. These works are transforming the abandoned coastal settlement, preserving an important part of the region's history and generating new opportunities for local tourism.
Jan 2016 Handover of the newly built Wheatstone Operations Centre to Chevron occurred.
Dec 2015 All LNG Train 1 modules are completed.
Dec 2015 More than $80,000 is contributed to Onslow community groups during 2015 as part of the Wheatstone Project's Community Spirit Fund.
Oct 2015 Wheatstone wins Western Australia's most prestigious environmental accolade - a Golden Gecko Award for Environmental Excellence for its micro-tunnel shore crossing at Ashburton North. Presented by the Department of Mines and Petroleum, the awards recognise leading practice and innovation in environmental management.

Aug 2015 Around 100 kilometers of flowlines, which connect the subsea production well manifolds to the Wheatstone Platform, were installed at water depths of 232 metres.
Aug 2015 Chevron awards local Western Australia company Pindan with the contract to build 50 houses in Onslow for the permanent Wheatstone LNG plant operational workforce.
Aug 2015 Official opening of the redeveloped Onslow Airport by Western Australian Premier Colin Barnett. The Wheatstone Project contributed more than $30 million to redevelop Onslow Airport providing vital regional infrastructure.
Jul 2015 Onslow community members take flight on Wheatstone Project Charter Flights operated by Virgin Australia. Public seats on flights between Onslow and Perth provide new transport options for local travelers.
Jun 2015 The 1200 tonne loading platform is installed on the 1.2 kilometre Product Loading Facility (PLF) jetty.

At the Materials Offloading Facility the breakwater is complete and the loading platform has been installed on the 0.75-mile (1.2-km) product-loading jetty.

Jun 2015 LNG Train 1 cold boxes are delivered to Ashburton North. They will play a central role in the gas liquefaction process, cooling gas to -320°F (-160°C).
May 2015 The offshore gas processing platform is now in place - 225 kilometres from Ashburton North. 
May 2015 The Wheatstone platform topsides load out and sail away is completed successfully. (The topsides weigh 37,000 metric ton. The project made history as Chevron’s heaviest ever topsides float-over and installation.) 
May 2015 Wheatstone platform hook-up and commissioning activities start.
Apr 2015 Apache Corporation divests its interests in the Wheatstone Project to Woodside Petroleum Limited.
Mar 2015 The roofs of LNG Tanks 1 and 2 are raised.

Both the roofs being raised on the Wheatstone LNG Tanks is a major milestone for the project.

May 2014 Shell Australia Pty Ltd divested to an Australian subsidiary of KUFPEC both its 6.4 percent participating interest in the Wheatstone Project Infrastructure and 8 percent interest in the joint venture covering the Wheatstone and Iago petroleum titles.
Apr 2014 The 3,802 bed Construction Village and associated supporting power and water facilities at Ashburton North is completed.
Mar 2014 Subsea Pipeline Installation begins with the first piece of pipe welded by the pipelay vessel, the Solitaire.

 Jan 2014 Nine development wells drilled to near-top of the reservoir and installation of the subsea flowlines started.
 Jan 2014 The first of nine development wells are spudded by the Atwood Osprey drill rig.

Micro-tunnelling operations are completed with the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) reaching the prepared "exit pit".
Oct 2013 The pour of permanent concrete works at LNG Train One at Ashburton North is started.
Aug 2013 The new 1900 metre runway is completed at Onslow Airport, allowing larger aircraft to land.
Aug 2013 Thiess starts tunnel boring for the micro-tunnel shore crossing, which will connect the offshore processing platform to the onshore facilities at Ashburton North.
May 2013 Chevron Australia Managing Director Roy Krzywosinski announces that the Wheatstone Project has now committed close to $10 billion in Australian goods and services.
Mar 2013 Chevron, together with Apache Energy and Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company, sign binding SPAs with Chubu Electric Power Company for the delivery of 1MTPA of LNG for up to 20 years.

With the completion of the Fly Camp expansion, more than 1000 beds are filled onsite.
Oct 2012 The Shire of Ashburton starts construction of the Chevron-funded airport upgrade, which will include a new runway and terminal building.
Sep 2012 The first 500 beds are occupied onsite at Ashburton North. And, in Jutal, China, the first steel is cut on Wheatstone's subsea structures.
Jul 2012 The first steel is cut for the Wheatstone Project platform, in Okpo, Korea.
Jun 2012 An additional binding agreement is signed between TEPCO and Chevron to purchase an additional 0.4 MTPA of Wheatstone LNG for up to 20 years, a 10 percent participating interest in the Wheatstone field licenses and an eight percent interest in the Wheatstone natural gas processing facilities.  
Jun 2012 The initial upgrade of Onslow Road, funded by Chevron, is complete, enabling safe and reliable access to the Wheatstone Project site and the Onslow township.
May 2012 Chevron signs HOA with Tohoku Electric Power Company Incorporated for the delivery of up to 1 MTPA of LNG for up to 20 years.
Apr 2012 Chevron signs HOA with Chubu Electric Power Company  for the delivery of up to 1 MTPA of LNG for up to 20 years. 
Feb 2012 The first accommodation units are installed at the Pioneer Camp.
Jan 2012 EPCm Bechtel mobilizes contractors to Ashburton North to begin preparation works and establish new access roads.

Chevron releases the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) / Environmental Review and Management Programme (ERMP). 
Jul 2010 Chevron signs a HOA with the Thalanyji People of Onslow, for land required to develop the Wheatstone Project. The Native Title agreement sets out significant benefits in terms of education, training, employment, business development and financial support.
Jan 2010 Chevron signs a HOA with Kyushu Electric Power Company to acquire 1.83 percent of Chevron’s equity share in the Wheatstone field licenses and a 1.37 percent interest in the Wheatstone natural gas processing facilities, which includes taking delivery of 0.8 MTPA of LNG.


Dec 2009 Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) sign a non-binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) to take 4.1 MTPA of LNG, become a 15 percent owner of the Wheatstone gas resource and an 11.25 percent owner of the gas plant.
Oct 2009 Local subsidiaries of Apache Corporation and Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) sign deals to join the project as natural gas suppliers and 25 percent equity participants.
Jul 2009 Chevron Australia awards Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) contract for Wheatstone LNG and domestic gas plant to Bechtel Oil, Gas & Chemicals Inc.
May 2009 Chevron announces a two-train LNG development for the first phase.
