Chevron Australia has been partnering with Scitech since 2006 to deliver innovative science education programs that highlight pathways to science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) careers for high school students.

Our partnership includes support for the following Scitech programs:

Primary Teacher Support Program - Connects primary and secondary school teachers in the Pilbara, delivering specialised professional learning activities and workshops to teachers to support their delivery of innovative and engaging science programs in the classroom. Retaining high-quality, capable and confident educators in regional Western Australia is key to increasing the student uptake of STEM related subjects and potentially pursuing careers in those areas.

Beyond the Beaker - Aims to encourage secondary students in Western Australia to continue studying STEM subjects and makes them aware of how STEM skills are essential in many careers and everyday life.

Aboriginal Education Program – Increasing engagement in science education among Aboriginal students in remote Western Australian communities. To overcome geographical, cultural and socio-economic barriers, Scitech educators travel to remote locations to engage children in STEM education.

Science Café – Held annually during National Science Week, this partnership between Scitech, Chevron and the University of Western Australia gives students a unique opportunity to interact with scientists in small groups, learning about career paths and specific jobs available in the science arena.
