Perth, Western Australia, is home to one of only two Global Technology Centres. The only other Global Technology Centre is in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Perth is the ideal location for a Global Technology Centre due to its proximity to our interests in the Asia-Pacific region; the growing reputation of the city as an excellent, centrally located core of operations for the oil and natural gas industry; and growth opportunities to pursue research and development and alliances with universities and industry research partners.
Established in 2007, the Perth Global Technology Centre is a strategic extension of Chevron’s Energy Technology Company in the Asia-Pacific region.
Significantly, 25 percent of Chevron’s global oil and gas production comes from the Asia-Pacific region.
Our Global Technology Centre assists in the identification of new research and development opportunities – both individually and with conjunction with key research partnerships – in the exploration and production of new oil and gas supplies to help meet the growing global demand for energy.
With the era of easy oil over, we believe there is an increasing need for technology to deliver a steady supply of new energy sources and capture new opportunities.
The Centre is responding to the challenge of finding and developing energy sources from more difficult and innovative environments and we believe technology is a key enabler to make this happen.
