Mobile artwork that doubles as employee transport is helping to keep island life and safety at top-of-mind for the Gorgon workforce.

Four colourful vehicles are part of a 45-strong fleet of on-island buses manufactured by Iveco in Dandenong,Victoria and fitted out by Volgren in Malaga, north of Perth, under a multimillion dollar contract. The themed buses are giving high visibility to Project health, safety, environment, quarantine and community engagement messages.

Environmental Responsibility

On-Site workers inspects one of the new buses featuring artwork designed specifically for Barrow Island.

Perth-based ImageSource Printing and Imaging Solutions completed the graphic work. The illustrations of native fauna for a community engagement bus were created by prominent Indigenous graphic artist Darryl Bellotti.

The buses will be fitted with a digital communications system, which will allow a selection of daily messages to be played with content themed around environment, quarantine, safety and the Incident and Injury-Free program.

The automated system was supplied by Osborne Park company Vizcom Technologies.
