New Advertising Campaign Highlights Common Ground on Energy Issues
PERTH, Western Australia, May 29, 2011 – Chevron Australia Pty Ltd today launches a new advertising campaign specifically designed to highlight the common ground it shares with people across the nation and indeed around the world on key energy issues.
Chevron Australia Managing Director Roy Krzywosinski said the campaign, filmed in Western Australia, describes the actions the company takes in producing energy responsibly now and in the future and in supporting local businesses and communities where it operates.
“We hear what people say about energy companies – that they should support local businesses, invest in communities where they operate and help create jobs and plan for tomorrow’s energy needs while also protecting the environment – and the fact is, we agree,” Mr Krzywosinski said.
“In essence, we have a lot of common ground on energy issues with the general community - if we take the time to find it. And, this campaign highlights our common values and the greater value we provide in meeting the world’s demand for energy."
The campaign includes a series of print adverts and 30-second TV spots that focus on five main themes:
Local Business – Highlighting our commitment to providing opportunities to Australian suppliers.
Community – Emphasising our investment in community partnerships and programs that will have a lasting impact.
Environment – Reiterating our proven track record which shows that with the proper management in place, the environment and industry can co-exist.
Investing in the Future – Demonstrating our long-term commitment to the Gorgon and Wheatstone natural gas projects which will provide opportunities and economic benefits on a scale never seen before in Australia.
Natural Gas – Describing our leadership in the development of two of the nation’s largest natural gas projects - Gorgon and Wheatstone – which will help secure a reliable and cleaner source of energy for future generations.
Both the television and print adverts feature declarative statements about the energy industry that are designed to illustrate the mutual agreement between Chevron, its partners and the general community. All of the print and TV ads can be found at www.chevronaustralia.com/weagree
