Chevron Congratulates Dr Harry Butler for Order of Australia Honour
PERTH, Western Australia, 11 June 2012 – Chevron Australia Pty Ltd today congratulated eminent conservationist Dr Harry Butler who has been appointed an officer (AO) in the General Division of the Order of Australia.
A renowned naturalist, author and conservation consultant, Dr Butler was chosen for distinguished service to the community through the promotion of public understanding of natural history and wildlife conservation, to the development of collaborative environmental partnerships with industry, and to the community.
Chevron Australia managing director Roy Krzywosinski congratulated Dr Butler for being recognised with the pre-eminent honour.
“Dr Butler has spent a lifetime dedicated to the protection of the environment, particularly on Barrow Island. He is a uniquely qualified and passionate individual who is dedicated to the protection of the environment, particularly on Barrow Island.
“As Chevron celebrates 60 years of oil and gas operations in Australia, we also celebrate 60 years of close association with Dr Butler. We have been very fortunate to have such a passionate individual working with us and demonstrating how conservation and oil and gas development can co-exist for the benefit of the Australian community,” Krzywosinski said.
