Chevron Australia exclusive naming rights sponsor of 2011 City to Surf
Chevron Australia is the exclusive naming rights sponsor of the 2011 Chevron City to Surf for Activ, event organisers announced today, as registrations opened.
The sponsorship amalgamates the previously separate category naming rights and the event naming rights under the one sponsorship. The categories for 2011 remain largely unchanged, with participants being able to choose from the following events: Marathon, Half Marathon, 12km Walk, 12km Run, the 4km Walk/Run and the 4km Wheelchair event.
“I’m delighted to confirm Chevron Australia as the title sponsor for the 2011 City to Surf for Activ. As Western Australia’s premier community sporting event, the newly named Chevron City to Surf for Activ allows Chevron to partner with the community in which it so closely works. This sponsorship also allows us to streamline the event and follow models from around the world,” Event Manager Alicia Hannon said.
Chevron Australia Managing Director Roy Krzywosinski said that Chevron was proud to partner with one of Western Australia’s premier community events.
“The Chevron City to Surf for Activ sponsorship aligns with our commitment to promoting health and wellness amongst our workforce and extends this important focus to the community.
“Chevron is proud to partner with City to Surf for Activ, a long standing WA event that has engaged thousands of people over many years. Most importantly, the Chevron City to Surf will continue to be a major fundraiser for Activ, a charity supporting people with disability,” Mr Krzywosinski said.
Activ CEO, Tony Vis is delighted by the renewed focus this sponsorship will bring to the event.
"We are very excited that Chevron has come on board as the naming sponsor of the City to Surf. Chevron's contribution will really help Activ to continue providing quality services to people with disabilities and their families living in WA. The City to Surf has been steadily growing each year and now, thanks to Chevron's commitment, it reaches a new level. We look forward to working together to further enhance the experience of participants in the event and grow the fundraising."
With registrations opening today, this sponsorship package will be significant to the running community not only in Perth but to the interstate and international athletes who participate in this event.
“With Chevron, we aim to continue building and developing the Chevron City to Surf for Activ as WA’s leading community event.” Mr Vis stated.
Now in its 37th year, the Chevron City to Surf for Activ is Australia’s largest community event and includes a Marathon, Half Marathon, 12km Run, 12km walk, 4km run/walk and 4km wheelchair event. This year will be held on Sunday August 28th 2011. Registrations and fundraising open today.
