Quarantine

A key component of protecting conservation values is our implementation of a rigorous environmental management system.

Quarantine management of Barrow Island and Thevenard Island is necessary to prevent the introduction of animals and plants that are not native to the islands.

Introduced plants and animals could potentially establish on the island and predate native species or out-compete for food, water and shelter.

Our quarantine program focuses on preventing the introduction of these species, but also has a component of on-island detection, and if necessary, control and eradication.

Supporting our Chevron staff are a wide range of external and government experts who contribute to the effectiveness of this world-class quarantine system.

We Agree. Energy production and the environment can co-exist.
