Chevron Volunteer Days not only enable employees to become actively involved in the community, but also encourage team building, improve morale and support personal development.
Our Chevron Volunteers program provides employees with the opportunity to support both conservation and humanitarian activities.
Volunteers from the Human Resources department spent a day at the beach late last year to help maintain the native flora along the Rockingham coastline.
Pruning overhanging dune vegetation from the tracks and collecting seeds along the beaches of Golden Bay were some of the tasks undertaken by the volunteers.
Partnering with Conservation Volunteers Australia, the seeds were then manually propagated over summer and re-planted in the dune areas - helping to protect the native plants and giving them a better chance of survival.
The work is part of an extensive dune restoration and rehabilitation program along the Rockingham coastline, set up by the Department of Environment and Conservation’s CoastCare WA and the City of Rockingham.
