Our Community Investment Focus
We have an unwavering commitment to being a good partner with our communities by focusing on building productive, collaborative, trusting and beneficial relationships.
In Australia, our social investment is concentrated in the north-west of Western Australia (WA), as well as in Perth, where Chevron Australia is headquartered. We invest in high-value programs in the key areas of health, education and training and the environment that build human capacity and help stimulate economic growth. This in turn helps communities to prosper.
Partnering with Perth International Arts Festival
Chevron is proud to be supporting Perth International Arts Festival, as the new International Excellence Partner. Together, we will help bring the power of human energy and international creative excellence to the people of Western Australia.
We are committed to playing an active role in the communities where we operate and our partnership with the Perth International Arts Festival is another way we are contributing to the creative ingenuity of Western Australia.
With our support, the Festival will bring world-class cultural experiences to the local community, helping to cement Perth as a truly global city and a thriving place to work and live. This exciting partnership includes naming rights of the Chevron Festival Gardens at the Perth Cultural Centre Precinct, and sponsorship of the headline acts in each event category.
In 2012, Chevron celebrated its 60th anniversary in Australia. We shared this proud milestone with the festival, which had also been entertaining the people of Perth for 60 years, making it the oldest community focused annual arts festival in the southern hemisphere.
Supporting the Community
As part of our commitment to enhancing the communities closest to our offshore operations, our Community Spirit Grants program supports local community organisations in Exmouth, Onslow, Karratha and Dampier.
Our employees are also encouraged to be involved in the community by spending one paid day per year volunteering on worthwhile community projects. We also support employees’ efforts outside of work by providing grants to community organisations they volunteer with and we match their donations to local charities through our Change for Charity program.
Indigenous Commitment
We recognise the relationship that Australian Indigenous people have with their natural environment and acknowledge their diversity of cultures and traditions.
We're commited to consulting actively with Indigenous communities where we operate to build an understanding of each other's aspirations and concerns.
For us, it's important to contribute to community engagement initiatives that promote improved social and economic conditions for Indigenous people.
