We believe people living and working in remote regions of Western Australia should have access to effective emergency medical care.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides a vital service to those who live and work in regional areas.
Typically, each year, the Royal Flying Doctor Service will fly over 450,000 kilometres in Western Australia, transferring more than 6,000 patients from rural and remote areas to hospitals in Perth.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service also undertakes vital preventative medical work, holding 1,600 clinics and conducts more than 24,000 telehealth calls.
We have contributed more than $A1 million to support the aero-medical retrieval service provided by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
We first became involved with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in 2004 with a donation to mark the 40th anniversary of crude oil produced on Barrow Island – Western Australia’s first, oldest and largest onshore oil field.
The north-west of Western Australia is an important area of operation for Chevron, and we are proud to support continued delivery of such an important medical service for those living in this and other areas.
