The Power of Human Energy

In 2011, more than 40,000 people took part in the event which attracted the biggest number of marathon and half marathon entrants in the event's history.  Chevron City to Surf for Activ Ambassador and Australia's most successful marathon runner Robert de Castella sounded the horn to start the gruelling marathon. Nearly half a million dollars was pledged for WA charities through the Activ Charity Challenge.

The Chevron City to Surf for Activ sponsorship aligns with our commitment to promoting health and wellness amongst our workforce and extends this important focus to the community. Signicantly, the Chevron City to Surf will continue to be a major fundraiser for Activ, a charity supporting people with disability.

We're confident that the event will continue to be a great draw card locally, nationally and internationally and will grow in popularity in the coming years.

World Marathon Champion, Olympian Chevron City to Surf Ambassador

The Chevron City to Surf for Activ appealed to me as a former elite athlete because I now have the opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle to Western Australians. I am excited to encourage as many people as possible to start training for the Chevron City to Surf for Activ and to get involved in this large-scale community event.

This provides a great opportunity for The Marathon Project and Chevron to join and promote running in Indigenous communities and healthy living in remote areas.
