Entries for the 2013 competition are now open.
Chevron Australia is proud to sponsor and coordinate Focus Environment, an environmental photographic and caption competition for Western Australian students in years four to 12.
At Chevron Australia, we are helping to meet the world’s growing demand for energy with the utmost respect for the environment. For more than 45 years we have been operating on Barrow Island – a Class A Nature Reserve and the location of the Gorgon Project – and our long history is proof that conservation and development can coexist.
We see Focus Environment as a way to encourage students to be aware of the world around them and make a commitment to caring for the environment and safeguarding it for future generations.

The Focus Environment competition is held during term two and three.
Monday 6 May: Competition opens

Photo Categories
In 2013, there are three subject categories for students to choose from. The competition categories reflect Chevron’s core values and commitment to the environment.
Students can choose from one or all three of the following photo categories for their entry/entries:
- Celebrating Human Energy
- Protecting Our Planet's Sustainability
- Respecting Biodiversity
Each student may enter a maximum of two photos in each of the three photo categories.
Students are asked to provide a title and caption for the photo. Judges place equal importance on the 25 word caption as they do on the photo.
