We have a long-term commitment to collaborative research projects.

Globally, Chevron's University Partnership Program is based on strategic relationships with 18 universities around the world to acquire and develop talent and leverage technology and research within the countries where we operate.

In Australia, we provide support to The University of Western Australia (UWA), Curtin University of Technology and the University of New South Wales.

We welcomed The University of Western Australia into our prestigious University Partnership Program in 2008, as part of a three-year, AU$2.3 million arrangement.

UWA executives visited Barrow Island to gain an overview of the proposed Gorgon Project's liquefied natural gas (LNG) and domestic gas facility. Lisa Hawker, from Chevron’s Perth Global Technology Centre and General Manager OE/HES Rick Biddle hosted the tour.

The program helps establish new initiatives, support science and research faculties and provide student scholarships.

At the University of Western Australia it will help fund a new Chair, two postdoctoral appointments and two PhD scholarships in gas process engineering.

Chevron Australia also has committed to funding a Chair of Petroleum Geoscience at the University of Western Australia and a Chair of Corrosion at Curtin University for five years.

At the University of New South Wales, Chevron funds two petroleum engineering scholarships.
