We recognise the relationship that Australian Aboriginal people have with their natural environment and acknowledge their diversity of cultures and traditions. We're committed to consulting actively with Aboriginal communities where we operate to build an understanding of each other's aspirations and concerns.
For us, it's important to contribute to community engagement initiatives that promote improved social and economic conditions for Aboriginal people. Human progress and economic development for Aboriginal communities means contributing along the entire social value chain.
Consequently, we have a range of programs designed to focus on the key areas of health and wellness, environment, education programs, heritage protection and economic development.
Gold Sponsor NAIDOC Week 2013
We are proud to be the gold sponsor of the 2013 National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week in Perth. NAIDOC Week celebrates the culture, history and achievements of Aboriginal people.
The annual event aligns strongly with our commitment to diversity and supporting Australian Aboriginals which is why we’re pleased to partner with the NAIDOC committee once again.
Supporting Aboriginal Arts
Chevron Australia recently partnered with renowned Aboriginal artist Phillip Walley-Stack for his inaugural performance of Strong.
Staged at the Octagon Theatre, Strong blended Aboriginal and contemporary arts through song, dance and theatre to tell the stories of Phillip Walley-Stack’s personal journeys.
We were proud to be the primary sponsor of Strong as it showcased the rich Aboriginal culture to the people of Perth. The partnership also supports our commitment to helping Aboriginal communities and building an understanding of each other’s cultures.
