Our Community Investment Focus

We have an unwavering commitment to being a good partner with our communities by focusing on building productive, collaborative, trusting and beneficial relationships.

In Australia, our social investment is concentrated in the north-west of Western Australia  (WA), as well as in Perth, where Chevron Australia is headquartered. We invest in high-value programs that build human capacity and help stimulate economic growth. This in turn helps communities to prosper.

In 2009, we contributed more than $3 million to social investment programs in Perth and north-west of WA, in the key areas of: health, education and training and the environment.

Our Philosophy

Karratha Youth Housing Project Outreach Services received a Chevron Community Spirit Grant in 2008.

Partnering for Stronger Communities

As part of our commitment to enhancing the communities closest to our offshore operations, our Community Spirit Grants program supports local community organisations in Exmouth, Onslow, Karratha and Dampier.

Our employees are also encouraged to be involved in the community by spending one paid day per year volunteering on worthwhile community projects. We also support employees’ efforts outside of work by providing grants to community organisations they volunteer with and we match their donations to local charities through our Change for Charity program.

Indigenous Commitment

We recognise the relationship that Australian Indigenous people have with their natural environment and acknowledge their diversity of cultures and traditions.

We're commited to consulting actively with Indigenous communities where we operate to build an understanding of each other's aspirations and concerns.

For us, it's important to contribute to community engagement initiatives that promote improved social and economic conditions for Indigenous people.
