We recognise the relationship that Australian Indigenous people have with their natural environment and acknowledge their diversity of cultures and traditions.
We're committed to consulting actively with Indigenous communities where we operate to build an understanding of each other's aspirations and concerns.
For us, it's important to contribute to community engagement initiatives that promote improved social and economic conditions for Indigenous people.
Human progress and economic development for Indigenous communities means contributing along the entire social value chain.
Consequently, we have a range of programs designed to focus on the key areas of health and wellness, environment, education programs, heritage protection and economic development.
Indigenous Working Group
We have embraced a “One Team” approach to ensure consistency of engagement with Indigenous communities in which we operate.
Our Indigenous Working Group brings together a team of key internal practitioners and subject matter experts committed to working together to progress Indigenous engagement and participation.
The group includes representatives from the human resources, legal, compliance, commercial and community engagement focused areas within Chevron Australia.
